THE FOAM SCHOOL Celebrates First Year Anniversary

BARBERTON, OH - March, 2008 – Since opening its doors in March 2007, the Foam School, a part of Construction Polymers International, Inc. (CPi), a multi-line distributor serving the spray polyurethane foam (SPF) industry, has successfully trained over 250 graduates. The Foam School is dedicated to SPF training offering a total turnkey approach from application techniques and equipment maintenance to sales and marketing skills needed to run a successful foam insulation business. The Foam School offers a comprehensive, hands-on training program geared towards foam insulation contractors. Attending the course are owners and crews mostly new to the industry. Although some students attend as a refresher course or to learn new skills, new market entrants are enrolling from across the nation to gain the knowledge and experience that the foundation of the Foam School is built upon.

CPi founded the Foam School based on the ideal, “Our firm belief is that there is a solution for just about everything, and so we either find it or, if needed, we come up with it ourselves.” CPi’s innovative approach and ten years in the business helped them to recognize the need for a specialized, formal training program. The Foam School was developed to provide information and educational opportunities that were unprecedented in the industry. The two-day course is offered every two weeks. Class size is maintained at 10-12 students per session to ensure a more personalized training experience that encourages open discussion in the classroom along with dedicated hands-on interactive training.
The first day encompasses theoretical training, more of an approach to foam and foam equipment. The second day is filled with practical training including more technical know-how of specific equipment and troubleshooting as well as the hands-on sessions. Upon completion of the course, an attendee is effectively prepared to handle most any field issue they might encounter. Customized off-site training programs at the customer’s location are also available, developed in accordance with your specific training needs.

What makes the Foam School distinctive is that the curriculum goes beyond merely including full system and equipment training. Since foam insulation requires a different marketing approach than traditional insulation methods such as fiberglass, topics such as job-costing and how to market yourself as a foam contractor are fundamental to the course.

Also unique to the institute is the faculty, consisting of several different instructors dedicated to their areas of expertise thereby offering extremely specialized instruction. Of course when it comes down to it, the hands-on session spraying actual foam insulation is what truly excites the contractor during training. Each participant has an opportunity to spray different foams with the latest equipment, fully suited and equipped with safety gear in a real-job simulating environment. Another added advantage is that CPi takes the position that they lead the industry in mobile spray rig solutions. These complete turnkey systems are on-site and available to the Foam School course group for inspection and Q&A. In fact, since the two-day course is included with all mobile spray rig purchases, often times a buyer of a custom rig will arrange to pick up their new trailer and stay for training all at once!

The cost per session is reasonably priced per student with a significant discount for each additional group member who attends during the same scheduled class. In addition to the extensive two days of theoretical and practical training, the tuition covers comprehensive course materials including CDs with sample contracts, marketing and sales presentations and a vast collection of industry articles.John Sesic, Sales and Marketing for CPi, is very pleased with the success and strong reputation the institute has established in its first year and sees the addition of training sessions necessary to meet the demands of the exciting spray foam industry.

According to John, “For those who recognize the great opportunity the growing SPF industry presents, the Foam School provides them with the tools and training to enter it successfully and perform in the market efficiently and profitably. CPi looks at all of our customers as long-term partners. Our customer’s success is synonymous with CPi’s success.” Growth and Success – two powerful elements for the Foam School to celebrate with on its one year anniversary! I've noticed that spray foam insulation is more expensive than regular insulation. But I was wondering if it's worth paying the extra money to get the spray foam insulation?

I think foam insulation in Toronto is a must have. I couldn't imagine having anything else. It would be a disaster.

I've wanted to learn to do this for myself. I think that it would be a good thing to do on the side of my normal job. I am very interested in construction and working on new homes.

I am looking into getting foam insulation installed in my new home. I have heard that it eventually pays for itself. It is just a little costly at the start.

I've been considering getting spray foam installation for the roof of the home we're building, but I've never actually seen it in our home. You guys train people to install it properly, what can I do to make sure that whoever I hire to install it, does so properly? I just want to make sure the people who would install it are doing so safely. http://www.severeweatherroofing.com

It's great to see an industry making a positive impact like this. There are so many people this could benefit. When I finished my attic I put in my own spray insulation but it would have been easier if a professional would have. I'm still worried I did it wrong.

I have been putting some walls up in my basement and I really need to get some insulation. I don't want that scratchy itchy stuff. What I really want is some foam kind. http://www.citywideinsul.com/pages/spray_foam.html
